Case Studies
An interactive multimedia, web design and marketing firm since 1995, Aristotle has accumulated a wide variety of
business case studies, web design case studies,
website marketing case studies and more.
Content Management Tools
Herschend:
In 2005, Herschend Family Entertainment asked Aristotle to create content management tools with one management console for more than five unique sites: Dollywood.com, SilverDollarCity.com, StoneMountainPark.com, Ride the Ducks, White Water and more. Herschend needed its employees to be as independent as possible in updating the constant promotions and calendared events on the sites, and each site required distinctive tools and applications to drive the content effectively. Within the management tool, Aristotle also developed advanced tracking for each theme park that enables employees to quickly track leads, inquiries, and ties those to direct sales. Herschend reported that 2006 was one of its most profitable years in online sales.
South Carolina Parks Recreation & Tourism (SCPRT)
Aristotle created the ultimate content management tool for South Carolina’s online tourism, parks, and agency websites. Not only are all the sites driven by content management tools, they also include built-in tools for search engine marketing. South Carolina’s staff needed to be able to use a simple online interface to quickly post photos, articles, ads and promotions. The staff also needed to be able to track the number of pages that were printed, the number of pages that were emailed to a friend and the number of “click-throughs” from their advertisers. Aristotle integrated the SCPRT enterprise data that includes its industry partners and members - data that resides on secure agency servers - into the live site. SCPRT Staff have online approval and spell checking tools along with extensive exit link tracking that shows the value of the site to the industry partners.
Programming & Applications
JCPenny/Staff Mark Online Timecard Application:
With a new Intranet built by Aristotle, Staffmark employees are being paid more accurately and in a timely fashion. There are fewer invoice errors. Aristotle built an online application that assists in automating JC Penney’s payroll approval process, thus streamlining the amount of work JC Penney must undertake in order to ensure payment. Additionally, the Intranet has reduced the administrative load on Staffmark management. The better and more-dynamic reporting available through the Intranet has eliminated the need for Staffmark staff to manually create reports each week.
Resort Living Magazine
The IMI Resort Living magazine website is targeted at consumers who are high income earners looking for a second home in a private community. Aristotle developed a custom “Flash” content management tool that allows the IMI staff to change main page imagery with issue releases. To give the site more shelf life than the typical printed magazine issue, Aristotle planned and reorganized the site to include an “Experience Life” navigation that introduces visitors to an archive of articles and advice columns found in the past issues of the printed magazine.
Arkansas Electric Cooperatives
AECC contracted with Aristotle for the development of an intranet that could enable the company to share information with employees in a rapid, cost-effective manner; allow employees to have access to all company policies in electronic format; create a forum by which employees could retrieve human resource forms quickly; and illustrate to employees the variety of resources being offered through the AECC.
“Our employee Intranet has successfully enabled the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas to disseminate information to employees in a timely, low-cost manner. We are able to track the amount of time employees spend viewing each section and adjust the site to meet the viewing trends. By moving to an electronic medium, almost all postage, printing and prepress costs were eliminated.” - Rob Rodel, AECC
Social Networking
Elvis Presley Enterprises
Aristotle consulted with Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE) to create a number online and offline programs that would encourage social networking and viral communications. Aristotle developed a dedicated area for Elvis fans to communicate by launching an Elvis Insiders Club website. Aristotle created an online chatting application where members communicate about upcoming EPE events and organize club meetings. The Elvis.com site and sub-sites include podcasts, e-postcards, online trivia and kids' games, wallpaper, screensavers, and custom email applications that target audiences by type.
Fireworks.com
In 1999, the BJ Alan company needed a new method of communicating with their multiple consumer buying groups including individuals, special event planners, non-profits interested in affiliate programs and more. Since online fireworks sales are prohibited in the US, Aristotle created an online community that offered Fireworks.com visitors the opportunity to do everything BUT purchase fireworks online. For the average consumer, site interactivity included an online forum for product discussion and rating, a shopping cart wish list that allowed enthusiasts to share their product preferences, a password-protected area for non-profits who are looking to profit-share at roadside tent sales, an online Flash game to “Shoot Your Own Fireworks” and much more.
Strategic Planning
Metrolittlerockalliance.com
The Metro Little Rock Alliance (MLRA) is a partnership of eleven counties in central Arkansas who needed a site to appeal to site consultants looking to place their clients' businesses in appropriate cities and towns. In order to offer consultants the most up-to-date demographic and real estate availability data, Aristotle and MLRA created a strategic plan that included dynamically linking to data from community economic development professionals and real estate associations. Unlike its contemporaries, the site pulls national data regularly from over 1,400 resources. To compete aggressively in the market, the strategic approach includes a live application that integrates an interactive GIS mapping application allowing site consultants to dynamically map any available real estate property, view it in relation to key city/site selection criteria (airport, highways, power lines, health care facilities) and contact a realtor.
University of Memphis
Aristotle consulted with the University of Memphis to conduct comprehensive focus groups and a redesign of the University, alumni and departmental websites. Aristotle’s focus groups included interviewing stakeholders from each primary audience group: parents, students, potential students, faculty and staff, alumni and visitors. Aristotle prepared several design comps for those focus groups and tested font sizes, colors, navigation, wire frame and information priorities. After a full analysis of the results, Aristotle prepared the final version of the design for the University website and email marketing campaigns.
Stephens
With offices in Little Rock, Arkansas and London, England, Stephens is a full service investment bank serving institutional clients and individual investors, general securities brokerage, asset management, research, and insurance. Aristotle interviewed multiple staff members from each department of Stephens and reorganized the focus of the site into a more effective communication tool for the company and staff. Aristotle strategically planned each interior section to draw the visitors’ attention to key content and to focus on revenue-building services that Stephens offers. Aristotle created an Extranet for Stephens legacy clients’ use and implemented a custom content management tool for site updates. Aristotle’s management tool includes an online reporting module for data gathered from forms and features on the site.

Aristotle also tracked the amount of time that each visitor spent on the site, helping Cliffs Communities to hone what people are searching for.
